Updated list of Starke County election candidates

The Starke County Clerk’s Office released an updated list of Starke County election candidates as of Friday afternoon, January 16.

New filings since the list was last reported on January 12 are as follows:

Republican incumbent County Coroner April Wilhelm has filed to seek re-election.

Republican Eugene Pugh has filed for a seat on the Starke County Council.

Democrat Christine Lotter has filed for the office of County Recorder, challenging Republican incumbent Jennifer Shepherd Madsen.

Several new candidates have expressed interest in open Democratic precinct committeeman positions across the county, including Q Angelina Giuliani, Cynthia Mann Kidder, Paul Lisowski, Christine Lotter, and John Edward Silhavy.

In addition to Republicans Kendell Culp and Jim Pressel, who are already running, Democrats Ashley Hammac and Laura Liskey have filed to run for State Representative in Districts 16 and 20, respectively.

Newly filed candidates for township board positions include Republicans Bart Egolf for Railroad Township and Kimberly Kroft for Washington Township, and Democrats Q Angelina Giuliani for Washington Township and Joe Griffo for Wayne Township.

New candidates have also filed for township trustee positions, including Democrats Sheri L. Bartoli for California Township, Katherine Kay Chaffins for Railroad Township, and Robert Schmidt for Jackson Township.

The deadline to file for candidacy is Friday, February 6, at noon Central Time, at the Clerk’s Office in the Starke County Courthouse.
