According to a press release from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department, on February 9th, 2026, detectives with the department submitted a report to the Starke County Prosecutor’s office regarding the incident surrounding the Amber Alert that was issued on Friday, February 6th, 2026.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the Starke County Prosecutor filed formal charges on Dwayne Clemons, age 44 of North Judson, Indiana. Clemons was charged with Aggravated Battery a Level 3 felony, Criminal Confinement a Level 3 felony, Kidnapping a Level 3 felony, Domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury a Level 5 felony, in addition to several other felony counts.
A probable cause affidavit was filed with the Starke Circuit Court and a $250,000 case bond was issued. Currently, Clemons is being held at the Starke County Jail.
