The Starke County Auditor’s Office has announced two meetings to be held tomorrow, Wednesday February 11th.
The first meeting is an executive session for the Starke County Plan Commission. This meeting will begin at 4:30pm and will take place at the Annex 1 building, located at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.
According to the announcement, this executive session is for the purpose of strategy discussions with respect to the initiation of litigation, or litigation that is either pending or has been threatened specifically in writing.
Executive sessions are not open to the public.
There is also a meeting and public hearing scheduled for this Wednesday, also to take place at the Annex 1 building in Knox. This public hearing is scheduled to begin at 5:30pm Central Time.
The Starke County Planning Commission will call the meeting to order as well as review monthly building and planning department items; including permits issued and inspections, and code enforcement updates for open cases.
There will then be public hearings for two different resolutions: Both resolutions recommend the extension of ordinances that created temporary moratoriums on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Commercial Solar Energy Systems (CSES), respectively.
Both resolutions recommend extending the moratoriums through July 25th of this year.
During the public hearing, all interested parties will be given an opportunity to be heard. Written comments may also be submitted prior to the meeting, and will be included in the official record.
After the public hearings, the board will address any other business that may come before them, before adjourning the meeting.
The public is invited to attend the 5:30pm meeting on Wednesday.
