Water Planning Workshop scheduled for Starke County in May

According to an announcement this week from the Starke County Surveyor’s Office, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources has invited stakeholders to participate in a series of water planning workshops across the state.

These workshops will allow IDNR to collect input, ideas, and information from stakeholders in order to help inform the development of a water inventory and management plan that will be statewide. The plan is part of Governor Braun’s Executive Order 25-63.

Attendees to the workshops will receive updates on the progress of this statewide water inventory and management plan, and they will be asked for their input in regards to developing a regional water planning framework, as well as enhancing the state’s water monitoring networks and creating a platform for online water data and management.

All are welcome to attend these workshops, which may be of particular interest to local officials, economic development groups, research institutions, agricultural users, industrial and commercial users, and many other groups.

Starke County’s workshop is scheduled to take place on May 12th of this year, from 1-4pm Central Time. It will take place at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center, located at 55 East Lake Street in Knox.
