The Indiana Department of Homeland Security announced it is accepting applications to the State Disaster Relief Fund.
The applications are open for Starke County residents who incurred damage to their homes or property as a result of the March 10th severe storms and tornadoes.
The State Disaster Relief Fund is intended to help with immediate needs, and funds are available for eligible applicants up to $25,000.
Currently, more than 100 homes are noted as having damage or having been destroyed. Additional homeowners or jurisdictions may qualify later for financial assistance based on damage assessment data.
This relief fund only applies to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured, and only addresses the costs of repairing, replacing, or restoring property that is the primary residence of the applicant.
Funds are also available to Jasper and Newton County residents.
