Knox City Police Department congratulates two officers earning Remote Pilot Certification

The Knox City Police Department recently made an announcement recognizing two of its officers for successfully earning their FAA Remote Pilot Certification.

Officer Mike Elam and Officer Matt Borkholder with the Knox Police Department have both passed their FAA Part 107 licensing requirements, and are now certified to operate the Knox Police Department’s newly purchased drone.

The announcement states that the addition of the department’s drone program is intended to help with crash scene documentation, search operations, criminal investigations, and emergency response situations.
