The Knox Parks and Recreation Board recently shared minutes from its February 25th meeting.
The notes read as follows:
Attendance:
Board Members Present: Gary Dulin, Nathan Bradley, Lucy Rizzo
Board Members Not Present: Glenn Barnes, Ruth Bailey
Others Present: Mayor Estok,
Approval of Minutes from January.
- Motion to approve: Lucy Rizzo Second: Nathan Bradley. All in favor.
Financial Reports: None.
New Business:
- Price for pickle ball wind nets was discussed and final measurements will be done and the order will be place. $350-400. Motion to approve: Nathan Bradley Second: Lucy Rizzo. All in favor.
- Lights for basketball court approved. An estimate for installation will be sought. Motion to approve: Nathan Bradley Second: Gary Dulin. All in favor.
- Quote for skate park was the same and the Mayor has confirmed the funding for it. Plans and cost were approved. Motion to approve: Nathan Bradley Second: Lucy Rizzo. All in favor.
- Approved Bobby Trusty for the concession stand rental. Price will remain the same as last year. Motion to approve: Nathan Bradley Second: Lucy Rizzo. All in favor.
- Park clean up day will be April 11th. Jason Flores will have helpers from baseball league join in.
- MOU for baseball was not discussed as it was not completed.
Activity Director’s Report
Superintendent’s Report:
Public Comment: Members from Main St. United want to use a portion of the park for a farmer’s market. This would be one Wednesday a month from 4-7:00 pm, May through Sept.
Dates approved are May 13, June 10 (possibly changing due to movie in the park), July 7, Aug. 12 and Sept. 9. Motion to approve dates: Nathan Bradley Second: Gary Dulin. All in favor.
Emma from Renew U proposed to use the park for an “Adult Field Day” either in April 26 or May 3. Dates were approved by Nathan Bradley Second: Gary Dulin. All in favor pending insurance coverage documents and MOU for using one of the baseball fields.
Jason Flores was there to discuss baseball. It will start the first week of May and go through June. He will get the park board schedules and a list of the league board members and their contact information. If they need to use park equipment there will need to be training and a waiver signed.
