Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by National Weather Service for Pulaski, Starke, and La Porte Counties

 

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm warning. The warning was issued at 7:41pm Central Time and will last until 8:30pm Eastern Time.

This warning covers Northern Pulaski County, Starke County, and Southern La Porte County.

The weather alert warns of tennis ball size hail and wind gusts of up to 60mph.

People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Remain alert for a possible tornado. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado, go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This thunderstorm is capable of producing all types of severe weather, including extremely large hail, destructive straight line winds, and tornadoes. Move quickly to a safe shelter such as an interior room, a bathroom, closet, or basement.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1am Central Time for northwestern Indiana.
