Winter Weather Advisory
… Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM EST /5 PM CST/
this evening to noon EST /11 am CST/ Tuesday…
The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a
Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain and snow… which is in
effect from 6 PM EST /5 PM CST/ this evening to noon EST /11 am
CST/ Tuesday.
* Timing… a mixture of snow and freezing rain will spread into
the area tonight and persist Tuesday morning.
* Main impact… surfaces are likely to become icy causing slippery
travel and hazardous walking conditions.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow… sleet… or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities… and use caution while
driving.

Statement as of 10:59 am CST on January 6, 2011/

Special Weather Statement
Light snow will continue to affect far Southern Lower
Michigan… portions of northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio.
Accumulations will be light… on the order of a few tenths to
locally a half inch. However… the smaller flakes may melt on well
traveled roads and then refreeze… causing some slick spots.
Motorists should exercise caution when encountering snow covered
roads into this afternoon.
