Winamac Park Board to Consider Funding Agreement for Pool Project

The Winamac Park Board will meet in special session this evening to consider an agreement that would allow the board to take control of the town’s swimming pool rebuilding project. A committee of volunteers has been raising money for the project over the past several months, with the donations going into a fund at the Community Foundation of Pulaski County. Starke County residents will have a chance to get rid of unwanted tires, electronics, and many other household items during the Starke County Environmental Management District’s 2016 Environmental Days. Residents can drop off tires, appliances, and electronics tomorrow afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Starke County Highway Garage at 3835 East 250 North. LaPorte County Officers Seek Help Tracking Down Fugitive

image003The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help in tracking down a convicted burglar. Officials with the Sheriff’s Office say Jeffery S. Glancy was recently sentenced to the Indiana Department of Correction but was granted a two-week furlough on May 2 to attend to a family member with medical issues. The Sheriff’s Office says he still hasn’t returned to the LaPorte County Jail. Continue reading
