An eight-hour standoff in LaPorte ended peacefully Wednesday, according to city police. A City of LaPorte press release says it began at 2:00 p.m., when the LaPorte County Fugitive Apprehension Street Team and the City of LaPorte Detectives Bureau tried to serve arrest and search warrants in the 200 block of Belden Street.
