The Christmas season will be a bit merrier for area military members, thanks to the generosity of the North Judson-San Pierre Junior/Senior High School community. They recently wrapped up a donation drive for St. Joe Valley Blue Star Mothers. They are a group of military mothers who support local veterans, active-duty military and National Guard members. Ted Hayes Remembers His Friend, Jennifer Davis
A Memorial Mass is scheduled tomorrow for a Starke County native and longtime public servant. Ted Hayes will deliver the eulogy for his friend, Jennifer Davis, and was kind enough to share a few thoughts with us.
A gathering of friends will take place this evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at O’Donnell Funeral Home in North Judson, with a 4 p.m. Rosary Service. Tomorrow’s Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in North Judson.

Starke County Clerk Reassures Voters, Offers Tips to Verify Information
The Starke County Clerk’s Office has not experienced any unusual problems with voting machines or registrations. Clerk Vicki Cooley wants to reassure local voters given the ongoing Indiana State Police investigation into possible fraudulent voter registration and concerns that systems may be hacked. Starke County does use electronic voting machines, but they are not connected to the internet. Additionally Cooley says vendor MicroVote is certified by the federal and state government.
