The Town of Monterey says they are limited in their ability to help the new owner of the former Sportsman’s Bar and Grill.
A property transfer was completed in late May of this year to William Sturgeon who has focused his attention on cleaning-up the site – which sat in rubble for some time prior to purchase following a collapse in 2015.
The North Judson-San Pierre School Board will announce at their Aug. 16th meeting what process they might favor in terms of transitioning from an appointed to an elected board. The Starke County Commissioners tonight will formally consider a tax abatement request from an Illinois-based company that’s looking to move to North Judson.

The North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation is once again taking part in the U.S.D.A. Summer Food Service Program. The Winamac Town Council has decided to officially hold off on transferring funds for the town’s swimming pool rebuilding project until next year.
