Starke County May Suffer Due to State Grant Timeline Extension
Starke County was among the first to have the required road and bridge asset management plan and project list ready for the state transportation grant application process. However, they’re still waiting to find out how much 50/50 matching money they will get for road and bridge projects. Kid’s Closet Ministry Hosts Starke County School Supply Drive

Donated items will be distributed as part of the annual Pack a Backpack event sponsored by Kid’s Closet Ministry at North Judson United Methodist Church. Pulaski County Looks to Enhance IT Recommendations for Technology Billing
Pulaski County continues its overview of certain technology operations at its facilities.
During Tuesday night’s County Commissioner’s meeting, a hurdle in that process was addressed. Pulaski County’s internet service operates under an umbrella overseen by the IT department, but decisions about bills from the service provider were disallowed from being scrutinized for future recommendation by the IT department under agreement.

Starke County Commissioners Add Road to Inventory
The Starke County Commissioners have agreed to add a short stretch of roadway to the county’s inventory. Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Charlie Weaver asked that the 1/6 mile Industrial Parkway north of 500 North in Hamlet be included in the list of county-maintained roads that is sent to the state. Doing so will ensure Starke County gets credit for the roadway when it comes to state funding distribution. Continue reading
Pulaski County Working Toward Electronic Signatures for Legal Documents
The Pulaski County government is working to bring additional technology into use for signing documents in a timely manner.
An initial request came from Circuit Court Judge Michael Shurn for the Pulaski County Commissioners to consider approving a request for the purchase of such technology. Research started after an incident was reported where someone was out of the office whose signature was necessary on certain legal documents.
Winamac Park Board to Discuss Member Disclosure Policies
The Winamac Park Board is expected to finalize a few of the policies for board members, when it meets this evening.
