N.J.-S.P. Elaborates on Staff Cuts

North Judson-San Pierre Admin buildingNorth Judson-San Pierre Superintendent Dr. Bob Boyd has elaborated on staffing cuts approved Tuesday by the school board to “right size” the corporation. He says the reductions in personnel include 10 certified teachers, four of whom are general elementary school classroom teachers. Another three are special education teachers, and three more are certified support personnel. Boyd stresses no educational programs will be cut as a result of the reductions. Continue reading

Monterey Official Hopeful Downtown Streets Can Reopen

A new fence around a collapsed building in downtown Monterey should be in place by this evening. Monterey Town Councilman Doug Denton says the Pulaski County Building Inspector advised a chain link-type fence will be placed around the rubble from the former Sportsman’s Lounge at the southeast corner of Main and Walnut Streets. In this surveillance footage from the Plymouth Dollar General robbery, the suspect can be seen walking into the store. Witnesses say he wore the same white baseball cap and black sweatshirt during all four robberies.
