The individual that authorities believe is responsible for robberies at the Dollar General locations in Plymouth and North Judson may have struck again in Cedar Lake.
National Weather Service Issues Dense Fog Advisory
A dense fog advisory is in effect through mid-morning. Visibility will be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less in places. The fog is expected to lift by 9 a.m. Eastern, 8 a.m. Central. Until then, motorists should slow down, use low-beam headlights for visibility and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.
N.J.-S.P. Board to Approve “Right Sizing” Reductions Tonight
The North Judson-San Pierre School Board will vote tonight on staff cuts to “right size” the corporation in the wake of declining enrollment. Eastern Pulaski School Board Approves Middle School Softball
Winamac Community Middle School will add a new athletic program for girls to the 2017 spring sports schedule. The Eastern Pulaski School Board last night unanimously approved the addition of softball for 7th and 8th grade girls. Pulaski Council Requests More Time Prior to Possible EMA Move
The Pulaski County Council has a opted to refrain from giving the EMA Department its own building.
The conversation started several weeks ago after it was recommended that the Emergency Management Agency in Pulaski County store its response and military surplus equipment in a single location. Currently, the EMA Department works out of the county courthouse, but stores its equipment in several locations around the county.

Road Closed for Bridge Repair
A road in northeast Davis Township will be closed for the next few months to accommodate a bridge replacement. The Starke County Highway Department has shut down 700 North between 500 East and U.S. 35 to replace the bridge over the Robbins Ditch built in 1975. The road is expected to reopen in early June. Slots are still available for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program at the Henry F. Schricker Starke County Public Library branch in Knox. They will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments are available on Wednesdays, March 23rd, 30th and April 6th, which is the final day for the program.
