Betty Jean (Haney) Lucas, a resident of North Judson, passed away at the age of 97 on January 26, 2019 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac. She was born in Iola, Kansas on August 7, 1921, the daughter of Martin and Tillie (Robbins) Haney. Her husband, Leonard E. Lucas, of North Judson predeceased her, along with sister Ruth (Haney) Boyer and brother Robert Haney.
She is survived by son Stephen Leonard Lucas (Kathy) and their children, Marc Yancy Lucas (Nadia Corral Frias) and Tabitha Lucas Balzer (Chris); daughter Donna Elaine Lucas (the late Louis Jensen) and their children, Lucas Paul Jensen and Elspeth Marie Jensen; son Martin Robert Lucas (Corinne) and her children Dustan Dale Bradley and Elisabete Cathrine Silotto (T.J.); and three great grandchildren, Bruno Atticus Silotto, Aleiya Jean Lucas, and Cyrus James Balzer. Betty is also survived by sister Joan (Haney) Getter of Farmers Branch, Texas and brother James Haney of Santa Clarita, California.
Betty enjoyed cultivating native plants, playing bridge with friends, and spending time with family. There will be no funeral or visitation, but a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor in June 2019.
