Betty P. Howard, age 86 of Knox, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.
Betty was born April 9, 1939 in Winamac to Jesse Deel and Gladys Thomas Deel, both deceased.
Betty loved her family and loved doing things for them. She loved to crochet, sewing, cooking and baking. She also had a green-thumb and liked growing plants and flowers.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Fosburgh (Dennis) of Monterey, Indiana, James L. Howard (Teri) of Port Byron, Illinois, John W. Howard (Kathy) of Knox, Paul R. Howard (Jenny) of Knox, and Susan Fields (Billy) of Winamac, a sister, Hazel Bowling (Bob) of Panama, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren (with 3 more on the way).
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard, three brothers, Danny, Tom and Billy Deel, two grandsons, George Peterson and Christopher Howard and a great grandson, Logan Mann.
A funeral service will take place Friday, May 2, 2025 at 1pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Round Lake Cemetery.
