Brad A. Lawrence

Brad A. Lawrence, age 63, of Knox, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018. Brad was born February 12, 1955 in Knox, Indiana. He has worked his entire life in his family farming operation, which was the very first grower of Pioneer Seed Corn in 1989. He was a Purdue Alumnus having earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1977. He was a member of the Victory Christian Church in Toto. He was also very active in the community having served as President of the Starke County Farm Bureau, Starke County Soil and Water Conservation District, Starke County Community Foundation and the Northern Indiana Community Foundation. He has served on the board of directors of Starke County CO-OP, Kankakee Valley River Basin Commission, Bailey-Cox-Newston Water Conservancy, Oregon-Davis Young Farmers and as a Starke County 4-H Leader.  

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Ann (Anderson) Lawrence of Knox, his wife, Donna (Taylor) Lawrence of Knox, his children, Lindsey Lawrence-Danford of Knox, Emily Lawrence of Charlotte, North Carolina and Matthew Lawrence (Amanda) of Knox, a brother, Todd Lawrence (Sarah) of Knox, three grandchildren, Conner Danford, Brady Danford and Finley Frazier, and a grandson on the way, Tucker Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Lawrence and a brother, Brian Lawrence.

Visitation will take place Monday, April 16, 2018 from 3-8pm (CT) at the Knox Community Center, 55 East Lake St., Knox. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00am (CT) at the Knox Community Center, Rev. James Pradke, Officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. Contributions may be made to the Brad Lawrence Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Starke County Community Foundation. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
