KOONTZ LAKE – Diana K. Johnston of Koontz Lake passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in Valley View Healthcare Center, Elkhart following a lengthy illness. She was born on October 12, 1960 in Knox to the late Earl and Edith (Fisher) Johnston, and was 60 years old at the time of her death.
She lived in the area her entire life, working at various local establishments as a Server. Diana was a past member of the Walkerton American Legion Auxiliary and the Koontz Lake Lions Club. She enjoyed golf cart rides with her son and late fiancée. Most of all she was a kind and caring lady that loved her family dearly.
Diana is survived by one daughter Jaime Johnston of Koontz Lake; one son Matthew Johnston of Koontz Lake; and four nephews Shaun (Rachel) Johnston of Mishawaka, Brandon (Sarah) Johnston of Westfield, IN, Damon (Stacy) Johnston and Zak Johnston all of Grovertown. She is preceded in death by her parents; her fiancée Jonny Grahm; two brothers Richard Johnston and Greg Johnston; and one sister Charmaine Johnston.
Due to the rapid onset of Covid-19 the family was not able to have services for Diana’s sister Charmaine. Therefore, this will be a combined service for both Diana and Charmaine. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 EDT Saturday, September 25 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 EDT Saturday, September 25 also at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to either the Walkerton American Legion or the Koontz Lake Lions Club.
