Joseph F. McIntire, age 84, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, May 02, 2018 at Catherine Kasper Life Center in Donaldson, Indiana. Joe was born June 4, 1933 in Knox, Indiana to William F. McIntire, Sr. and Alma V. Burger McIntire, both deceased.
He has worked his family farm his entire life, as well as, many years with his family business, McIntire Brothers, Inc. Trucking Company. He had served on the Crown Hill Cemetery Board of Directors for over 50 years and on the Starke County 4H Board for over 40 years. On August 2, 1953 he married Dorothy Jean Sinn, she preceded him in death on October 28, 2014.
He is survived by his children, Terry McIntire (Janet) of Knox, Joseph H. McIntire of Knox, and Kathy Helton (William) of Knox, a sister, Vi Pawlik (Alvin) of Knox, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Toth and brothers, James H. “Jim” McIntire, William F. “Bill” McIntire Jr., Robert “Bob” McIntire, and Melvin McIntire.
Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2018 from 4-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
