Karen Jane Tanksley, 55 years old of Grovertown , Indiana, died Monday, January 29, 2018, she went peacefully surrounded by her family, in Laporte, Indiana.
She was born Wednesday, July 18, 1962 in Millington, Tennessee, Daughter of Melvin Mills and the late Judith(Paxton) Mills.
Karen enjoyed working in her yard, her flowers, gardening and reading. Karen’s greatest passion was spending time with her family and grandchildren..
She worked for MPI .
Surviving are Father, Melvin Mills of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Carey(Scott JR) White of Hamlet, Indiana, Daughter, Tiffany(Stephan Miller) Tanksley of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Amanda(Jayson) Coldiron of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Lisa Burt of Knox, Indiana, 10 grandchildren, Sierra Coldiron, Cassidy Coldiron, Thomas White, Logan Eskridge, Kylie Burt, Ethan White, Keegan Burt, Gabryelle Eskridge, Jillian Coldiron and Connor Coldiron, Brother, Frank Mills of Michigan City, Indiana, Sister, Kathy(Kent) Frain of LaGrange, Indiana, Companion, Phil Wireman of Grovertown, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Tanksley and by mother Judith Mills, sister Angel Mills and son-in-law Rusty Burt.
Friends will be received 4-8 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.
Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Friday, February 2, 2018 at 1 PM with Rev. John Haferkamp officiating.
Interment will follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery.
