Kenard Jackson, age 93, of Knox, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Kenard was born April 13, 1925 in Carver, Kentucky to Earl Jackson and Mabel Bailey Jackson, both deceased.
He had worked 31 years for the U. S. Airforce, 20 years active duty and 11 years in Civil Service in Management Information Systems and Communications Electronics Programming, spending time in Japan, Germany and Iceland. He was a Christian man and was a founding member of New Hope Baptist Church, which he actually helped build. After retirement, he loved spending time on the farm gardening.
On September 15, 1951 he married Geraldine Theiss, his wife of 66 years now, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Debra Frost of Phoenix, AZ, Ronald Jackson of Dyer, IN, Larry Jackson of Pontiac, IL and Sandra Zeigler of Knox, a sister, Evelyn Adams of Mt. Sterling, KY, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 5-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. (CT) at the New Hope Baptist Church in Knox. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
