HAMLET – Luther M. Ferch passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family early Sunday, September 26, 2021, in his home. He was born on March 28, 1933, in Hamlet to the late Richard and Flora (Hayes) Ferch, and was 88 years-old at the time of his death.
He lived in Hamlet his entire life in the home he was born in, and on June 18, 1955, in Hamlet he married the love of his life Cheryle Stanton, who survives. Luther was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and a past member of the Oregon-Davis School Board. He was a lifelong farmer who was widely known for his kind heart, being a caring man, and someone who never met a stranger.
Luther is survived by his wife Cheryle of Hamlet; one son Jan Ferch of Hamlet; and one granddaughter Autumn Ferch of Knox. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Paul Ferch.
Visiting hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 CDT Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 CDT Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hamlet with a visitation also held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like Memorial Contributions to be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church
