Incidents:
01/25/13 A report was made of telephone harassment in the 600 Block of Keller Avenue.

01/25/13 During two separate traffic stops conducted by North Judson Police, both drivers were driving while suspended. Laura L Boule, of Winamac, and Patrico Guardiola, of North Judson, were both issued state uniform traffic tickets.

01/24/13 Police investigated three traffic accidents during Thursday’s early morning snowfall. The first, a single car accident, occurred around 5:50 a.m. CT and was covered by North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner. North Judson resident Vincent Valdez, driving a 2009 Toyota, was applying his brakes to make a right hand turn onto Sheridan Avenue from Talmer Avenue, when his vehicle began to slide off of the roadway and struck a utility pole. Budner estimated damages near $2,500. A little later in the morning, Madison Osborne of North Judson was traveling east on State Road 10 when she came across a patch of ice and snow and her vehicle began to fishtail. The vehicle spun backwards into a ditch near 5300 W State Road 10. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely estimated this single vehicle accident at over $2,500 damages, as well. The third accident, reported at 9:40 a.m. CT, involved Michael Korous, who was plowing snow in the Burger King parking lot. When the snow plow was backing up, Aaron Ingram was driving east bound in the alley. The two vehicles collided. Police Chief Vessely set damages at over $5,000. The roadway surface played a role in all three incidents. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.

01/22/13 A woman visiting the North Judson area reported that she either lost or had her wallet stolen from her vehicle. The wallet contained some personal items, driver’s license and cash. Anyone finding this or has knowledge of the missing wallet is urged to contact the North Judson Police at (574) 772-5914.

01/22/13 A man in the 5000 block of 250 West reported to North Judson Police that his vehicle had been keyed either when it was parked in town or early in the morning hours while it was parked at home. Damaged was estimated by Chief Doug Vessely at near $500.

01/22/13 Two subjects from the LaPorte area were going door-to-door on George Street collecting money to help pay for their niece’s funeral in LaPorte. They were advised by North Judson Police that they could not do solicitation door-to-door without a permit and advised to leave the area. They were also told they needed permission to place a can in any area businesses from the business.

01/21/13 North Judson Police Officer Darren Conley conducted a traffic stop on a Black Dodge Avenger being driven by Randy Bishop of Winamac. After a short investigation, Bishop was arrested for Driving while Suspended Prior and for no proof of insurance. He was also given two traffic citations for False and Fictitious registration and one for expired registration.

01/21/13 Randy L Bishop, 35, 7161 N. 800 W., Winamac, IN arrested in preliminary charges of Driving While Suspended-Prior and No Proof of Insurance.

Incidents:
01/27/13 The Winamac Police Department responded to a call from a bus driver who said her school bus had been vandalized. Some unknown person(s) spray painted the bus.

01/27/13 Animal Control advised that a patient was in the Emergency Room after a person was bitten by a dog.

01/27/13 A Winamac man told police that some unknown person(s) had splashed oatmeal and ketchup on his doors and a door knob.

01/27/13 Another window was broken out of the Amazing Grace Church.

01/27/13 A woman called police to report a break-in at her home in Monterey. She stated that some unknown suspect(s) did damage to the floors. Police indicated that the home showed no signs of forced entry and it appeared that the structure showed signs of deterioration.

01/27/13 Jasper County called for backup from the Francesville Fire Department as they battled a house fire.

01/26/13 The Winamac Police Department was called to a fight on Franklin Street in Winamac.

01/26/13 A structure fire was reported at 202 S. Logan Street in Winamac.

01/26/13 A power outage was reported at Galbreath Incorporation. Power lines were down and there was no power coming into the facility.

01/26/13 A resident on 550 South requested an officer as some unknown person damaged his mailbox.

01/25/13 A car vs. deer accident was reported. No injuries were noted.

01/25/13 A roll-over accident was reporte on U.S. Highway 35 and 315 South.

01/25/13 A semi slid off the road on U.S. 35 on the 1st curve south of Star City.

01/25/13 Winamac Fire crews were called to Dillman Tire in report of a fire at the business. Star City, Monterey and Knox-Center Township Fire Departments were called to the scene.

01/24/13 Assistance was requested by Miami County as an 18-year-old has locked herself in the bathroom and she is a ward of the state.

01/23/13 A resident on Jenkins Street in Winamac requested an officer to file police report.

01/23/13 A man called police to let them know that his daughter rolled her truck. A tow truck was on its way and no injuries were reported.

01/23/13 The Medaryville Fire Department was called to a structure fire in Medaryville.

01/23/13 Police were called to a residence after a farmer called about a vandalized irrigation system.

01/22/13 A Winamac resident asked to make a report for credit card fraud.

01/25/13 William Finkley, Jr., 23, of Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Burglary.

01/25/13 Samantha Deck, 26, of Monon, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Reckless Driving.

Incidents:
01/27/13 Officers found several vehicles with their lights on and doors open with no one around. Police located one vehicle owner and only one item was reported stolen.

01/25/13 A hit and run accident was reported in front of O’s Tap. No injuries were reported.

01/23/13 Suspicious activity was reported around the Heaton Street apartments.

01/21/13 A resident on Washington Street reported a possible fraud. She told police that someone called her and told her she won $2.5 million in a sweepstakes but she hung up on the caller thinking it was a scam. She said she did not give the caller any bank or credit card information.

01/21/13 Mary Beever told police that the side of her mailbox was damaged. The reporting officer noticed that the mailbox had been hit with an object.
