Incidents:

02/22/11 – The North Judson Police investigated a Battery complaint in the 300 Block of Garden Street. A male juvenile was hit in the head area by an adult female. The reports have been filed with the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office and Probation.

02/21/11 Jessica M. Manson, 25, 45 Lake Street, Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operator Never Licensed.

02/22-11 Franklin D. Mowbray, Jr., 21, 5361 S. Detroiter Lane, North Judson, IN, arrested on a Starke Circuit Body Attachment.

02/27/11 Joshua J. Morrow, 28, 610 Arlington Avenue, North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

Incidents:
02/28/11 Carl Williams called police to report a shooting. He had shot 24-year-old Erica Richie in the head as she was attempting to break into his home. She was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital due to her injuries. Kayla McCord, 19, of Logansport, who was also involved was arrested on two counts of Burglary, a Class B Felony.

02/26/11 A caller in Francesville reported that a small person climbed through the soffit on his porch and cut the wire to his outside speakers. The person then stole all of the outside wire. The caller had reported a theft at the home three weeks prior to this incident.

02/26/11 A resident in Monterey notified police that his handgun is missing.

02/26/11 A caller in the Bruce Lake area advised police that he just got home and intruders had been in his home. There were footprints and tire tracks all around the residence. He said his coon dog is missing.

02/25/11 A caller in Monterey said that two boys are racing on 4 wheelers or motorcycles and they have been doing that for four or five days. The caller said they were going 80 mph.

02/24/11 A resident reported her vehicle stolen in the Medaryville area. She couldn’t remember if she had left the keys in it or not. She wasn’t able to find her keys that morning.

02/24/11 A Medaryville resident told police that he caught someone trying to break into his vehicle and that person broke his windshield. The person left when the caller went outside to confront the suspect.

02/24/11 Superior Court requested an officer for the removal of a subject believed to be intoxicated.

02/24/11 Caller advised police that he wasn’t home at the time but he was told that someone was on his property loading up scrap metal. He did not give permission to any person to be on his property.

02/24/11 A kitchen fire at a Winamac residence was called in. The Winamac Fire Department and EMS were called to the scene.

02/23/11 A car that appeared to be in an accident was located in the woods in the northwest part of the County. Police arrived and saw that the driver’s side had extensive damage from hitting a tree at that location. The windshield was smashed and there was a little bit of blood on the driver’s side of the vehicle. While police were on scene, the owner showed up and told police that he was fine. He got out of the vehicle on his own power.

02/23/11 A Winamac resident reported that her children arrived home from school and there is an unfamiliar car in the driveway with someone sleeping in it. After he moved his head, the person was identified as the oldest daughter’s boyfriend.

02/22/11 A Winamac resident advised that two boys were in his truck making “shake and bake” (a type of meth). After police were notified, they left the area.

02/22/11 A woman in the Denham area reported that someone attempted to break into her home. The door was damaged and a basement window was broken. No one made it into the house.

02/22/11 A Winamac resident reported the theft of items from his vehicle. There is a suspect in this case.

02/22/11 An officer was out in the Monterey area with two intoxicated subjects that crashed into a ditch. No one was injured.

02/21/11 A resident in Medaryville requested an officer to report stolen articles. His girlfriend’s couch and a bunch of jewelry was stolen. After an investigation, it was discovered that the landlord took the couch and got rid of it.

02/21/11 A caller in Francesville called to report a vehicle rollover. No one was injured. Another rollover was reported an hour later with no injuries. A third rollover was reported and a female was injured. She complained of head pain. The vehicle had rolled several times. All the rollovers occurred in different areas of the county.

From the Knox City Police Department:

Incidents:
02/28/11 Best Ford reported the theft of a vehicle. The theft occurred between Saturday and Monday morning. The truck, used by Best Ford for plowing snow in the parking lot, was parked in the north parking lot. Unknown persons disengaged the snow blade from the truck and left it in the parking lot. The truck only moves 10 mph.

02/27/11 Tiffany Grienank reported the theft of a black lap top computer. There is a suspect in this case.

02/27/11 Timothy Sexton of Knox reported the theft of a license plate from a Dodge Durango. Sexton said that the plate was owned by he and Rhonda Gayheart. The license plate was registered to only Rhonda Gayheart and was listed as false and fictitious.

02/25/11 A employee from Best Ford called police to report that one vehicle parked at the facility was forcibly entered. The officer was directed to the east side of the facility where two vehicles had been entered and unknown suspects had attempted to remove the ignition switches. Neither vehicle was moved from their parked location. One vehicle had an after market stereo removed. One vehicle was a 1995 4 door Lincoln that was owned by a private citizen and the other was a 1999 Chevrolet suburban owned by Best Ford. Both vehicles had paper towels draped over the ignition switches.

02/24/11 Leslie Schroeder, 38, 1607 L. St. LaPorte, IN, cited for Driving While Suspended-Prior and speeding. She was traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.

02/23/11 Christopher Roloff reported the theft of $1,535. There is a suspect in the case.

02/22/11 Vincent Rosetti, 31, no address given, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

Incidents:
02/26/11 A caller advised that the house across from Knoll Brothers on US 30 was smoking heavily but the caller could not see any flames.

02/26/11 A Knox Post Office employee was bitten by a dog at 195 S. 800 E. in Knox.

02/26/11 Kevin Hall reported the theft of an electric meter.

02/25/11 Knox Water Superintendent James Eads reported that two fire hydrants were opened. Hamlet Police Chief Jeremiah Patrick said this incident is not related to the incident in Hamlet.

02/24/11 Caller advised that she was driving past a residence at 3320 E. State Road 10 and she noticed smoke and flames coming from a chimney. When she drove by again, only smoke was coming from the chimney. Bass Lake Fire Department was called to the scene.

02/24/11 Pastor Squibb of the Knox United Methodist Church called to report a suspicious vehicle. A younger man in a pickup truck was continually circling the church parking lot.

02/24/11 A person at the Victory Christian church reported that some unknown person(s) broke a fence.

02/24/11 Frank Ballotti reported to police that he was robbed.

02/23/11 A San Pierre resident called to report that he bought a stove from 2 subjects and they then took the stove back because they said it was stolen. They refuse to give back his money.

02/23/11 Jeff Singleton reported the theft of tattoo items.

02/22/11 A caller from the Grovertown truck stop reported that someone was beating on the back of a van parked in the parking lot.

02/27/11 Ralph Settle, 54, no address given, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.

02/2711 Hercules Harmon, 23, of Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
