07/04/14 Officer Frank Thomas conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of State Road 10 and County Road 250 West. After a brief investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Mickey Lee Lonely, 25 of Valparaiso, was issued a Summons to Appear in Court for Driving While Suspended – Prior. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
07/04/14 Officers responded to a fireworks complaint in the 6100 block of Oakwood Street.
07/01/14 Police responded to numerous calls in reference to trees being down and power being lost in town do to a strong storm that came through the area on Monday night.
07/01/14 Officers responded to a complaint of theft from a vehicle in the 400 block of Main Street.
06/30/14 Police responded to a fireworks complaint in the 6100 block of Oakwood Street.
06/30/14 A scam was reported to police. The scammer advised the victim that he was with the IRS and wanted to collect on an outstanding tax debt. Police warn you that the IRS will not call you to collect on a tax debt. Do not give out any personal information and or send any money.

7/1/14 – Deputies respond when a local resident reports that a few wires in a tree were sparking.
7/1/14 – Sheriff’s deputies take a theft report of air conditioner parts and copper pipes from an empty house.
7/1/14 – Deputies respond to a report of neighbors shooting guns in an unsafe manner.
7/1/14 – Winamac Police respond when a woman reports that a suspect had just came and stole $100 from her.

06/30/14 – An employee at Grovertown Truck Stop reported the theft of her cell phone while she was at work.
6/30/14 – Dispatchers received several reports of trees down and other storm damage. Sheriff’s deputies, volunteer firefighters and Starke County Highway Department employees took care of the problems.
7/1/14 – Diana Kay Duffee, 45, of North Judson hit a tree on 450 South at 100 East and sustained minor injuries.
7/1/14 – Russell C. Dulin, 60, of Knox hit some lines down on State Road 10 at the Marshall County line.
7/1/14 – Dispatchers received several reports of downed trees and power lines and other storm damage. Sheriff’s deputies, volunteer firefighters and Starke County Highway Department employees took care of the problems.
7/1/14 – A property owner in the 1800 block of east 250 South in Knox reported trespassers.
7/1/14 – A San Pierre resident reported all of the money was taken from her banking account.

7/1/14 – A resident in the 5300 block of south 250 East in Knox reported her neighbor is at her home with a gun and is upset because she and her family drove through his yard last night because trees were down. She said he pointed a gun at her father-in-law.
7/2/14 – A resident in the 4000 block of north 900 East in Grovertown reported the theft of her wallet and medication from inside her truck.
7/2/14 – A truck driver who parked at Grovertown Truck Stop overnight reported the theft of fuel from his semi.
7/2/14 – Deputies responded to an accident on U.S. 421 in the S curve in San Pierre. No injuries were reported.
7/2/14 – A resident in the 5100 block of south 275 West in North Judson reported the theft of a red-nosed pit bull the previous day.
7/2/14 – Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle versus deer accident in the 3700 block of South U.S. 421 in San Pierre.
7/2/14 – Joanna L. Deller, 32, of Winamac, was involved in a single-vehicle accident with injuries in the 6600 block of south 300 West in North Judson.
7/2/14 – A resident in the 3500 block of East 400 South reported the theft of his wood.
7/2/14 – A resident in the 4300 block of south 650 West in North Judson filed a report of telephone harassment.
7/3/14 – Joshua Cabe Sprinkle, 31, of Knox, hit a tree on 50 North east of 300 East in Knox. He told deputies something ran out into the road in front of his vehicle.
7/3/14 – A resident in the 5300 block of South Elm Street in Knox reported a possible telephone scam.
7/3/14 – A woman reported four men trying to beat her 17-year-old son at Koontz Lake Park. Later a witness called and said he saw the fight.
7/4/14 – A resident in the 4100 block of South U.S. 35 in Knox reported an intoxicated family member shot a 45-caliber revolver at her husband and her children. They fled the residence and waited for deputies at a nearby store.
7/4/14 – Michelle Lynn Fornelli, 37, of North Judson, was involved in a single-vehicle wreck with injuries at the intersection of U.S. 421 and State Road 10.
7/4/14 – A resident in the 3400 block of North 900 East in Grovertown said a man in a black Jeep-style four-door vehicle accused him of nearly causing an accident, backed into his driveway, got out and punched him before leaving northbound on 900 East. The victim said his glasses and dentures both got broken and requested medical attention.
7/4/14 – A resident in the 10300 block of east 700 North in Koontz Lake reported kids riding golf carts up and down the roads in the area. He said none of them are old enough to be driving, and he and several neighbors have complained on numerous occasions.
7/4/14 – A resident in the Koontz Lake area reported kids on golf carts throwing firecrackers at dogs in yards.
7/4/14 – Deputies received a report of two drunk men physically fighting in the 100 block of south 1025 East.
7/5/14 – A resident in the 8900 block of East Long Lane Drive in Knox reported her neighbors are very drunk and setting off fireworks after curfew.
7/5/14 – Dispatchers received a report of a dog locked inside a car at Bailey’s Discount Center in North Judson for over an hour.
7/5/14 – An employee of a Grovertown business asked to speak to an officer about a counterfeit bill.
7/5/14 – A resident in the 4700 block of south 750 West in North Judson reported his mailbox has been blown up.
7/6/14 – A resident in the 6700 block of south 700 East in Monterey reported is ex-girlfriend stole his dog.
7/6/14 – A contractor working on a foreclosed house in the 1700 block of west 450 South in North Judson reported the theft of a water heater.
7/6/14 – A resident in the 5600 block of south 210 in Knox filed a theft of jewelry report.
7/6/14 – A resident in the 5400 block of east 800 South in Monterey came to the sheriff’s department to file a vehicle theft report.
7/6/14 – A resident in the 2100 block of south State Road 39 in North Judson said someone took her vehicle from her house while she and her husband were gone overnight and wrecked it.
