7/29/14 – A Winamac man called the police to report a residential burglary. He heard a noise in his basement and discovered it had been ransacked.

7/29/14 – Winamac Police were notified of a residential burglary.

7/29/14 – Winamac Police took a report of money stolen from the console of an automobile.

7/31/14 – Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of theft in Medaryville.

7/31/14 – Winamac E.M.S and Winamac Fire Department respondeded to a trailer fire.

Incidents

7/28/14 – A resident in the 300 block of East 625 South in North Judson reported three aggressive dogs came after her when she went out her front door. This has happened previously. The Starke County Humane Society advised they have tried in the past to catch the dogs but have not been successful, as they are wild. They urged the sheriff’s department to attempt to trap them. The prosecutor’s office was also contacted. They advised the victims could have the right to protect themselves in this instance.

7/28/14 – A North Judson resident reported a telephone scam and was advised not to respond to it.

7/29/14 – A resident in the 7800 block of North Tippecanoe Drive North in Walkerton reported damage to a garage, apparently caused sometime today when a vehicle ran into it.

7/29/14 – A resident in the 3200 block of East 300 North in Knox reported a possibly intoxicated person is refusing to leave her residence and just set something on fire in her back yard. She called back to report he kicked her door in and entered her house.

7/29/14 – A resident in the 8100 block of North State Road 23 in Koontz Lake reported his neighbor is burning copper.

7/30/14 – A resident in the 2800 block of East Toto Road in Knox reported receiving a threat.

7/30/14 – Multiple agencies responded to a burn complaint at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Old U.S. 30 in Hamlet.

7/30/14 – A 13-year-old in the 7400 block of South 250 West in North Judson was bitten by the neighbor’s dog.

7/30/14 – A resident in the 6600 block of Old U.S. 30 in Grovertown reported items stolen from an outbuilding on the property.

7/31/14 – Deputies were advised of a two-vehicle property damage accident on State Road 10 east of 700 East in Culver. One vehicle left the scene, possibly en route to Culver.

8/1/14 – A Knox resident reported receiving a telephone message advising she had one hour to contact the city court before a warrant was issued for her. She called the court and was advised to contact the Starke County Sheriff’s Department.

8/1/14 – A resident in the 3200 block of West 400 South in North Judson reported a residential break-in.

8/1/14 – A resident in the 8600 block of South Bryan Street in Ora reported the theft of a new prescription.

8/2/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Bass Lake Fire Department and Starke County EMS responded to a traffic accident a the intersection of State Road 10 and U.S. 35.

8/2/14 – A property damage traffic accident was reported at the intersection of State Roads 39 and 10 in North Judson.

8/2/14 – A resident in the 5000 block of East 200 South in Knox reported receiving threatening telephone calls.

8/2/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Koontz Lake Fire Department and Starke County EMS responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle or moped accident in the 10000 block of East 600 North in Grovertown.

8/3/14 – A caller reported vandalism in the 5300 block of South County Road 210 in Bass Lake.

8/3/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Washington Township Fire Department and Starke County EMS responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 2900 block of South State Road 23 in Knox.

Incidents:
07/28/14 A report was called in about two male subjects acting suspicious at the town park. An officer checked the area but was not able to locate the subjects.

07/28/14 A resident in the 3800 block of Second Street reported to North Judson Police that calls are coming in in reference to a credit card. The calls were not coming from the credit card company. The calls are believed to be scam calls.

07/28/14 Police responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the 200 block of Lane Street. The officer checked the area but was not able to locate the vehicle.

07/30/14 A domestic complaint was reported in the 300 block of Arlington Avenue. A report was filed with the appropriate agency.

08/01/14 A resident reported to police that there was a loose dog chasing joggers. The officer checked the area but was not able to locate the dog.

08/01/14 Officer Frank Thomas conducted a traffic stop on Talmer Avenue in front of Liberty Elementary resulting in the criminal arrest of Andrew C. McCarty for Driving While Suspended Infraction.

08/02/14 A resident reported to police that there is a giant raccoon on her roof. The officer checked but was not able to locate the giant raccoon.

08/02/14 Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated a property damage accident at the intersection of Main Street and Lane Street. Two pickup trucks collided in the intersection. Budner estimated the damage at over $1,000.00.

08/02/14 Officer Frank Thomas responded to a vehicle off the roadway on County Road 500 South just east of Born’s Trailer Park. After a brief investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Christina P. Hensley, 42, of Kouts, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated refusal.

08/01/14 Andrew C. McCarty, 24, of LaPorte, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of driving while suspended infraction.

08/02/14 Christina P. Hensley, 42, of Kouts, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated refusal.
