Incidents:
04/22/11 Linda Matkovich reported to police that while she was at home, someone opened the door on the passenger side of her vehicle and left it open. She did not find anything missing from her vehicle but she did observe a large scratch across the hood, stretching from the passenger side of the car to the driver’s side of the car.

04/20/11 Lydia Bradley reported money stolen from her purse while she was at Dollar General. She told police that she walked away from her purse for a brief moment and when she returned, she saw that the wallet inside her purse was open. Approximately $100 was stolen.

04/20/11 An employee at Next Door Foods reported the drive off of $30.01 in gasoline.

04/19/11 Knatasha Justice reported the damage done to the passenger side of her vehicle. It appeared that her vehicle had been struck by another vehicle. Approximately $1,000 in damage was done to the vehicle.

04/18/11 Richard McVicker reported the theft of a 20 pound propane bottle from a BBQ grill.

04/23/11 Patrick Sobieck, 26, 308 E. John St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft.

04/22/11 John Rupert, 27, 903 S. Prettyman St., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Driving While Suspended-Prior. He was cited for false and fictitious registration and no insurance.

04/21/11 Lori Gregg, 29, 1705 E. State Road 10, Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

04/19/11 Darrell Gabbard, 45, 303 N. Clark St., Knox, IN arrested on a preliminary charge of Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury.

Incidents:
04/22/11 A resident in the 4600 block of S. 550 E. reported the theft of a 4 wheeler.

04/22/11 A resident called police to report that a man was taking items from the dumpster parked on private property at 500 S. near the golf course.

04/22/11 A resident found a white plastic bag with a pink powdery substance and several empty Prestone cans around it in the 1200 block of E. S. of 700 N., south of the fence in Walkerton.

04/21/11 A resident in the 10600 block of E. 825 N. in Walkerton reported that some unknown subject(s) vandalized his boat and stole gas from the boat. The boat was not in the water at the time of the incident.

04/20/11 Bryan Tunis of North Judson reported the theft of the tailgate from his truck.

04/20/11 A resident in the 5700 block of S. 250 W in North Judson reported a break-in at the residence.

04/20/11 A San Pierre resident reported the theft of a credit card.

04/19/11 A resident in the 3000 block of S. US 35 reported the theft of air conditioners out of her apartment building.

04/23/11 David Vermilyer Jr., 29, North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.

04/22/11 Jamie Jones, 32, Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Possession of Controlled Substance, Prescription Fraud and False Informing.

04/21/11 Evert Rudd was arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a 11% BAC.

04/20/11 Brian Standiford, 45, of Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Harboring a Fugitive, Possession of Methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a School, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Heather Manns, 33, of North Judson, IN, arrested on a Failure to Appear warrant through Starke County. She was also wanted out of Pulaski County.

04/20/11 Brian Standiford, of Knox, IN, was arrested on preliminary charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Illegal Drug Lab, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Amy Ahlenius, of Monterey, IN, was arrested on preliminary charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Illegal Drug Lab, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Rose Martin, of Knox, IN, was arrested on preliminary charges of Visiting a Common Nuisance.
David Scarberry, of Donaldson, IN, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Visiting a Common Nuisance.

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
04/23/11 Scrap thieves once again struck the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson. It is not sure exactly when, but it was discovered that around 40 to 60 iron joint bars were missing from the property. The bars hold the rails together and weigh about 60 pounds each. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely commented, “It’s a real shame as these bars cost around $90.00 each to replace as new bars and for the scrap value, all 60 of them would be about $600 making each bar about $10.” Vessely is asking anyone with information concerning this scrap theft from the Museum or any other theft to please call the North Judson Police at (574) 772-5914.

04/20/11 The North Judson Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Hoppe’s Hardware in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 21st. Unknown subject(s) entered the building through a back window they had broken. Several store items were reported taken as well as some copper electrical wire. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the North Judson Police or Crime Stoppers at (574) 288-STOP or 1-800-342-STOP.

04/18/11 A woman in the 300 Block of Garden Street reported to North Judson Police that her purse had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was in her driveway.

Pulaski County Sheriff's Department

From the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department:

Incidents:
04/24/11 The Monterey Fire Department was called to a house fire on 800 N. At the time of the call, a neighbor told police that flames were coming from out the front door. The Bass Lake Fire Department was called as mutual aid to the scene. The Monterey Fire Chief reported to WKVI that the home was not a total loss but it is under investigation.

04/24/11 An accident was reported on US 421 where a pickup truck had rolled several times. The driver was out of the vehicle and walking around.

04/23/11 A resident reported a telephone scam. The caller advised the resident that a $7,000 grant would be awarded if she goes to a Western Union and donate $99. When the resident would get to Western Union, she would need call the caller back and say she was at Western Union and then the caller would advise who to make the donation to. The resident did apply for a grant but no personal information was exchanged. The resident was advised that this is a scam and she should report her number to the Do Not Call list.

04/23/11 Dollar General reported two shoplifters in the store. One suspect was detained and the other fled the store on foot. The second suspect was apprehended after a brief search.

04/23/11 A caller in Medaryville said kids by the Funeral Home are threatening to stab someone. When police arrived, one subject did have a knife. After an investigation, police found the suspect is already on probation for a weapons violation. No injuries were reported.

04/22/11 An employee at a Winamac gas station reported that a female subject has been there twice to fill up with gas and has driven off without paying for it.

04/21/11 A Pulaski resident reported to police that her mailbox was destroyed.

04/21/11 A caller in the Bruce Lake area told police that an LP tank has a pipe threaded into it with a cap on it. It is located off the roadway in his field. Dispatch called the Indiana State Police to clean up the area.

04/21/11 A Francesville resident reported the theft of hogs.

04/18/11 A telephone scam was reported. A resident said someone called her and said her husband was won a large amount of money and needs to send $700 and meet an agent at Wal-Mart. That agent would direct the caller to Las Vegas to verify his winnings and make payment arrangements. Dispatch advised caller to register the number on the Do Not Call list.

04/18/11 A Winamac resident reported that someone had stolen his parents’ truck.

From the Hamlet Police Department:

Incidents:
04/25/11 Officers responded to 113 Division Street for three males in the back of the residence with flashlights. Upon arrival it was found to be officials from NIPSCO looking for a gas leak.

04/21/11 Officers responded to 504 N. Starke Street for a neighbor dispute. The situation was resolved.

Arrests:
04/19/11 Officers responded to 501 E. Oak Street in Hamlet for a domestic dispute. The subjects were separated and preliminary charges have been filed on Jenny Keeton for Battery.
