Motorists who use State Road 8 to travel west of Knox may want to find a new route for the next few weeks due to continued work to rebuild the intersection with Starke County Road 300 East. Starting Wednesday, traffic on the highway will be reduced to one lane with flagmen so the edge of the highway can be saw cut and removed to begin preparation for paving. Continue reading
Pacific Avenue west of 300 East in Knox may be closed for brief periods of time over the next few days. Road crews are installing a new storm sewer at that intersection as part of the improvement project in that area. The project engineer advises the intersection will be fully accessible for emergency responders at all times.
The Knox City Council received an update on the 300 East construction project in the Industrial Park.
Starke County Economic Development Foundation Director Charlie Weaver said that bids were opened in March for the reconstruction of the intersection of State Road 8 and County Road 300 East. The southern part of the intersection will be reconstructed.
