The Knox Board of Works will consider additional penalties against the owner of 6 North Pearl Street today. The board had called for the home’s demolition back in 2016 but later agreed to give the owner a chance to fix the issues. Board members will also get updates on 253 East Washington Street, 8 South Main Street, and 204 West Bender Street.

Director of Building and Code Compliance Kenny Pfost told the board of works Wednesday that work on the fire escape at 1 & 3 North Main Street still isn’t done, but the owner has been working on it.

The owner of 1 & 3 North Main Street had most recently been given until Wednesday to complete a few final items, but Director of Building and Code Compliance Kenny Pfost told the board of works Wednesday that the work still hadn’t been done.

Knox Plan Commission Outlines Steps for Blighted Building Owner

Knox Code Enforcement Efforts Stall
Code enforcement efforts by the City of Knox have hit a bit of a snag. Building inspector Bruce Williams has had no success contacting the owner of the house at 202 N. Pearl Street. During their June 22nd meeting, the Knox Board of Works gave him a maximum of 60 days to make significant interior and exterior repairs to the property. Continue reading
