A Merrillville couple faces drug charges in Starke County following a multi-agency meth bust in Koontz Lake Monday evening. Knox Burglary Suspect Taken into Custody
A man who police say ran from the scene where a meth lab and stolen items were found was taken into custody.
Jason E. Cooke, 35, of Plymouth was located and taken into custody by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, Jan. 26. Cooke was later transported to the Starke County Jail and is being held on preliminary charges of burglary and theft, according to a Knox City Police Department press release.
Disturbance Call Leads to Meth Lab Raid, Arrests
A disturbance call to the Stay 4 Less Motel on U.S. 30 in Hamlet last night led to the arrests of two Knox women. According to a news release, deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s and Knox Police Departments found items reported stolen from a Knox residence on Monday. Continue reading
Alexis Houston Sentenced in Starke Circuit Court Hearing
Alexis Houston was sentenced in Starke Circuit Court Tuesday morning.
Houston previously pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state to charges of possession of methamphetamine as a Class D felony and visiting a common nuisance as a Class B misdemeanor.
Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall accepted the plea agreement. Houston was sentenced to two years in the Indiana Department of Corrections with one year suspended to be served on probation on the charge of possession of methamphetamine. She was also sentenced to serve six months in the Starke County Jail with no part of the sentence suspended on the charge of visiting a common nuisance. The sentence was permitted to be served on home detention.
The sentences will run concurrently, or at the same time.
