The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld a Knox man’s conviction on a drug charge from 2013. A jury found Alfred Higdon guilty of possession of methamphetamine as a Class D felony. Alfred Higdon Trial Takes One Day in Starke Circuit Court
A verdict has been reached in the trial of Alfred Higdon.
Higdon’s trial was held Wednesday in Starke Circuit Court and took only one day to complete.
Higdon was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana from an incident stemming from April of last year. Continue reading
Initial Hearings Set in Starke Circuit Court for Higdon, Melton
Two suspects arrested in a month-long methamphetamine production investigation will have their initial hearings in Starke Circuit Court on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
Alfred Higdon, 40, and Shari Melton, 39, were arrested Thursday night after Knox City Police officers reportedly found methamphetamine precursors in a home in the 300 block of Delaware Street in Knox. Investigators also found meth and marijuana inside the residence.
Higdon and Melton were arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors and Possession of Marijuana. They remain in the Starke County jail with a $10,000 surety bond.
Knox Residents Jailed on Meth Charges
A month-long investigation by the Knox Police Department culminated in the arrest of two residents on meth charges last night. Alfred Higdon, 40, and Shari Melton, 39, were arrested at a home in the 300 block of Delaware Street. Officers reportedly found chemicals used in the manufacture of meth as well as methamphetamine and marijuana at the residence. Higdon and Melton both face charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of precursors and possession of marijuana. Formal charges are pending.
