The liquid used in e-cigarettes could be regulated under legislation being sponsored by State Senator Jim Arnold.
House Bill 1432 would clarify the liquid used in vapor pens as intended to be inhaled. If the bill is signed into law, manufacturers of the liquid would be required to obtain a proper permit. That permit would cover a period of five years.
Indiana Senate Democrats say the halfway point of the long session in Indianapolis has been reached.
That mark was reached on Wednesday according to a release from the caucus this week.

A bill preventing firefighters from serving on Township Boards was approved in Indiana about two years ago, but State Senator Jim Arnold is trying to exempt firefighters under new legislation.
Senator Arnold has filed a bill that would allow an individual to serve as both a member of a Township Board and a volunteer firefighter. The move comes after many rural areas have been experiencing problems finding individuals to serve in government.
