The Indiana Bicentennial Torch made its way to Pulaski County Friday. The torch traveled up U.S. 35 before heading down the Tippecanoe River in a canoe. Then, it was on to Downtown Winamac for the TorchFest Opening Ceremony.
Natural Look Planned for ‘Bison-tennial’ Sculpture

Starke County Bicentennial Committee Awaiting Torch Route Approval
The proposed route through Starke County for travel of the Indiana Bicentennial torch in October of 2016, has not yet been confirmed. Starke County Committee chairperson, Councilman David Pearman, says the routes are being confirmed by the state committee, county by county, according to the order of torch travel. Starke County Bicentennial Committee Discusses Torch Relay Route
A preliminary route for the 2016 Indiana Bicentennial Torch to travel thru Starke County late afternoon and evening October 7, 2016, was the main topic of discussion of the Starke County Indiana Bicentennial Committee this week.
The torch will be primarily transported by people, passing the flame from torch bearer to to torchbearer. The local relay may also use other modes of conveyance that are symbolic of the history and heritage of Starke County, including watercraft, antique vehicles and railroad. Continue reading
