If you have business with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, you need to take care of it today or wait until Tuesday. BMV branches across the state are closing tomorrow and Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday. All Bureau of Motor Vehicles branches will be closed Saturday, Nov. 9 through Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
All license branches will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, Nov. 12 except for the Demotte, Knox, Monticello and 13 other branches around the state. Those branches will resume normal operations on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be closed Saturday Oct. 12 through Monday, Oct. 14 in observance of the Columbus Day holiday.
R. Scott Waddell, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, stated that all license branches will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, Oct. 15 except for branches in Demotte, Knox, Monticello, and Nappanee plus a few other locations throughout the state. Those branches will reopen on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The branches will resume normal business hours on Friday, July 5 except for 16 branches state-wide including Rensselaer, Walkerton and Winamac which will reopen on Tuesday, July 9.

Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commissioner R. Scott Waddell today announced that license branches will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 22, Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday. All license branches will resume normal hours of operation on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
In addition, license branches will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day. All license branches will resume normal hours of operation on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
All Bureau of Motor Vehicle branches will be closed Saturday, Nov. 10 through Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
The myBMV.com website and all automated phone services will also be out of service from 2 a.m. Saturday to noon ET on Sunday.
Sixteen branches will be closed that are normally open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday. The following area branches will reopen on Wednesday, Nov. 14: Knox, Demotte, Monticello and Nappanee.
License branches will extend hours of operation on Monday, Nov. 5 and Tuesday, Nov. 6 to issue ID cards and driver’s licenses that may be used for identification on Election Day.
A state-issued photo ID is required in order to cast a ballot at the polls or to vote absentee. A birth certificate or passport can also be used to verify identification.
An updated design of Indiana’s popular “In God We Trust” license plate will be available for new or renewed vehicle registrations in 2012.
The redesign accommodates a new licensing plate numbering system. All standard and specialty plates have been or will be redesigned by the end of 2013 to remove the small stacked letters and allow up to six larger letters and numbers.
Monday is Columbus Day and some bank branches will not be open and Post Offices will be closed in observance of the holiday. Knox City Hall will be closed on Monday.
License branches normally open on Monday will be closed on Monday, October 10th, and those branches will resume normal hours of operation on Wednesday, October 12th. Local customers needing to conduct business with the Knox, Demotte, or Monticello license branches can visit this website. Officials at the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced that the Knox and Winamac license branches will have new hours of operation beginning Monday, February 28th.
The Knox License Branch will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT. The Winamac License Branch will be open on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
Full-service license branches will be closed on Saturday, January 1st in observance of New Year’s Day. Branches will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, January 4th at 8:30 a.m. prevailing time.
