Though there are still a few other holidays coming up before Christmastime is officially here, practices for a December performance will start soon. Choir call-outs for this year’s Community Christmas Cantata will be Thursday at 6 p.m. CT in the Knox United Methodist Church. Brian Liechty and Nan Folkers are working together as directors for this year’s production and will hold choir practices at the church every Thursday at 6 p.m. following the initial call-out meeting. Community Cantata Choir Call Outs Coming Soon
Although the Community Cantata Choir won’t have their final performance until Christmastime, rehearsals will be underway soon. Event coordinators and program directors Nan Folkers and Brian Liechty are still working out this year’s theme and the schedule for official try-out dates and subsequent rehearsals. Maxinkuckee Players Set to Present ‘Hello, Dolly!’
The community theater in Culver that has been putting on productions for three and a half decades has spent months preparing for their latest show, ‘Hello, Dolly!’. Performers come from all over the northern Indiana area to audition to be a part of the Maxinkuckee Players. Maxinkuckee Players Schedule “Hello, Dolly!” Auditions
Aspiring thespians can audition this weekend for a part in this summer’s Maxinkuckee Players production of “Hello, Dolly!” Auditions will take place tomorrow from 9 a.m. until noon and 1 until 5 p.m. EDT and Sunday from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Culver Community High School auditorium. Annual Christmas Cantata Held Sunday
The 52 members of the Community Choir performed twice yesterday at the Knox United Methodist Church. It was the 14th season for the annual Christmas Cantata and was performed and dedicated to the memory of Jim Keen, who sang in the choir for 10 years before his untimely death earlier in the year.
Because of illness, Director Jim Oliverius was replaced by Nan Folkers and Brian Liechty.
Starke County Government Officials Discuss Health Insurance
Health insurance coverage for Starke County employees was discussed this week by the County Commissioners, Starke County Council President, Mark Smith, and Council-elect member, Mitchell Semans.
