The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation is getting ready for the new school funding structure set to take effect in 2019. The school board adopted a resolution Monday to establish new Education and Operations funds, according to Superintendent Dan Foster.
Knox School Board Approves Purchase of Five School Buses
The Knox school bus fleet is getting a major upgrade. Last week, the school board approved the purchase of five vehicles, totaling just under $400,000. Those include two 78-passenger Bluebird buses for just under $188,000, and a 48-passenger Bluebird handicap bus for nearly $101,000. Knox schools will also be getting two 14-passenger Starcraft minibuses for a total of just over $110,000.
Knox School Board Approves Budget Transfer for Potential Bus Purchase
The Knox Community School Corporation may be able to purchase an extra bus, thanks to some leftover funds. Treasurer Sherry Fort told the school board last week that the corporation’s Bus Replacement Fund has built up a significant cash reserve over the years, but this year’s budget only gives them permission to spend $325,000.
North Judson-San Pierre School Board Approves All Items Up for Adoption
North Judson-San Pierre School board held a public hearing for a proposed lease agreement as well the 2018 school budget prior to their regularly scheduled meeting last night. They were specifically addressing the Capital Projects Fund and the Bus replacement fund during the hearing.
Treasurer Guy Richie explained that approximately 40 percent of the capital project funds go toward technology with the remaining funds being disbursed among things such as insurance, utilities and repairs. He also mentioned that the bus replacement fund is set up to allow the corporation to purchase three new buses in 2018. Continue reading
