Pulaski County will investigate further options for managing the site of the former Sportsman’s Bar and Grill.
The County Commissioners were approached Monday night by officials residing in the Town of Monterey with a petition requesting action. The building collapsed in April of last year, prompting the county to construct a fence surrounding the site.

Pulaski County Government Considers Self Last Resort in Monterey Clean-up
Rubble remains at the site of the former Sportsman’s Bar and Grille, and according to the Pulaski County Commissioners, few are taking responsibility.
The building collapsed earlier this year, prompting health and safety concerns in Monterey. It was learned during Monday’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting that a local resident has offered to haul the building’s remains away for free. The individual must first become registered with the County Building Inspector.

Clean-up Begins After Weekend Tornado
Following weekend storms in Starke County, the clean-up process will now begin.
Officials with the National Weather Service were able to confirm an EF-1 Tornado touched down in western Starke County. Wind speeds were estimated at a maximum of 95 miles per hour.
