Comprehensive Plan for Knox on Drawing Table

City_of_Knox_LogoKnox city officials recently met with the Green 3 to put together ideas for a comprehensive plan for the city. A tour was taken of the city where a list of needs was assembled.

The downtown area was highlighted as a possible revitalization area. Those in attendance believe that the downtown area needs updated with brighter lighting and greater ambiance. Support for existing services, historic preservation, housing needs and economic development were all included as ideas.

City of Knox to Draw New Comprehensive Plan

  
 

Officials met last week to look into composing a new five-year comprehensive plan for the city of Knox.

Knox Mayor Rick Chambers said a company will be hired to design a plan.

“We have hired a company from Indianapolis called Green Three and this company will be hired from a grant that we have obtained from the State of Indiana from OCRA (Office of Community and Rural Affairs) to update Knox’s five-year plan and give us a direction of where we want to go,” stated Chambers.

Culver’s Comprehensive Plan Meeting Didn’t Draw the Crowd Expected

Last night’s vision meeting regarding Culver’s comprehensive plan project didn’t have the turnout that Town Manager David Schoeff was expecting, but he said it was still a fun and productive meeting. Schoeff explained that about 25 people showed up to discuss the comprehensive plan to allow officials to get an idea of where the residents of the town see their community developing towards the future. Residents identified places in and around town that can be developed and gave their insight on what residential areas, commercial areas, or infrastructure aspects could be improved.

Culver to Host Vision Meeting for Comprehensive Plan Tonight

With summer finally here, the town of Culver will host a vision meeting tonight regarding the town’s soon-to-be-drafted comprehensive plan. Town Manager David Schoeff explained they’re working on gathering information to aid them in drafting the plan, and to that end, the town is holding a vision meeting at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Culver High School in the cafeteria. He said he’s looking forward to this meeting as it will give town officials an idea of how the community sees Culver growing for the future.

The town of Culver is hosting a community workshop on April 22, the first of several face-to-face community outreach events scheduled throughout the comprehensive planning process. The purpose of this workshop is to allow residents and businesses throughout Culver to make their voice heard regarding what they value most about the community and the issues that they would like to see addressed.

Town of Culver Hoping to Have Draft of Comprehensive Plan by Fall

The town of Culver is getting ready to kick off their comprehensive plan project with a community meeting at the beach lodge. Town Manager David Schoeff said that on April 22, the town will be holding the meeting in an effort to get some public input and expressed that the comprehensive plan is less focused on what the town council or administration wants to do with the town, but more of how the community feels the town should develop.

Pulaski County Drug Free Council Drafts Comprehensive Plan

The Pulaski County Drug Free Council has drafted and adopted a new three year comprehensive plan for combating the abuse of drugs and alcohol in the county.  The plan was created after data was collected from the community.

The plan will be funded through the collection of drug interdiction fees received through the criminal justice system from those convicted of substance abuse offenses. That money is then awarded as grants to people and agencies that can effectively achieve the goals of the comprehensive plan.

Culver Town Council to Compile New Comprehensive Plan

A new comprehensive plan for the town of Culver may be in the works to replace their current, 12-year-old plan. According to Kevin Berger, President of Easterday Construction Co., the town is eligible for an OCRA Planning Grant, which can provide the town with up to $50,000 for compiling this comprehensive plan. The grant allows a portion of the funds to go toward grant administration, which allows the town to hire an outside firm to work on it.
