Tip Sends Two Culver Women to Jail

 
 

A pair of Culver women face multiple felony charges in Marshall County after police officers from three departments followed up on a tip about a stolen car and a woman with an outstanding warrant. On Friday officers from the Indiana State Police, Culver Police and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department checked 624 Forest Place, Apartment 3A in Culver and found the stolen 2002 Chevrolet Malibu in the parking lot. They spoke to a resident of the apartment, Courtney M. Owens, 25. She gave them permission to search the apartment for the fugitive. Officers found Kayla J. Culver Shooting Ruled Murder-Suicide

An autopsy conducted by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Joseph Prahlow yesterday and a Culver police investigation have revealed that the result of the shootings on Wednesday, November 28 inside a Culver residence was a murder-suicide.

Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger indicated that the preliminary autopsy results showed that 44-year-old Michael Price shot 16-year-old Stephen Suthard multiple times and then turned the gun on himself.

Culver Shooting Remains Under Investigation

The Culver Police Department has not released any more details in the shooting incident in Culver late Wednesday night.

44-year-old Michael Price and 16-year-old Culver High School Sophomore Stephen Suthard were found dead in a home at 419 W. Madison Street with apparent gunshot wounds. Price’s wife found the bodies when she came home late Wednesday night.

The Culver Police Department is working with Indiana State Police Crime Scene Technicians in finding out what led up to the incident. Evidence was collected at the scene and interviews are ongoing.

Shooting Investigation Continues in Culver

The investigation continues into two shooting deaths in Culver Wednesday night. Police were called to 419 W. Madison St. around 10:41 p.m. in regards to two male subjects found deceased, and when officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Michael Price and 16-year-old Stephen Suthard dead in the home from apparent gunshot wounds.

Culver police and Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies secured the interior and exterior of the residence, and the Indiana State Police assisted with crime scene processing while Culver police and Marshall County deputies continue interviews and investigate all leads. Police have not released details as to what led up to the shootings. Autopsies will be conducted on Monday.

Suthard was a sophomore at Culver Community High School.

The Culver community gathered last night at the Wesley United Methodist Church to support friends and family of the victims.

The Culver Police Department was assisted by the Culver EMS, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, and the Marshall County Coroner.

Culver Police Investigates Armed Robbery

The Culver Police Department is investigating an armed robbery incident at the Family Dollar store at 18701 State Road 10 in Culver.

On Saturday evening around 8:40 p.m. ET, a male subject entered the store and approached a cashier, displayed a weapon and bag and then demanded money at gunpoint. Employees followed the demands and an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the business. No one was injured.

Knox CVS Robbed

The identity of a suspect arrested in connection with the robbery at CVS in Knox last night is still being withheld by Knox City Police.

Knox City Police responded to an armed robbery call at CVS at 9:18 p.m. An officer saw a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver stopped, then backed into the police cruiser in an attempt to disable the vehicle. A pursuit began which lead into Marshall County. Both suspects abandoned the vehicle on Upas Road in Marshall County and one suspect was arrested. No further information was released by the Knox City Police Department and the robbery remains under investigation.
