NJ-SP to Host Youth Educator for Indiana’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

A Youth Educator for Indiana’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force will be in Starke County tomorrow presenting information to North Judson-San Pierre students in grades 3 through 12.

The ICAC Task Force works with state and local law enforcement agencies to develop an effective response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation through investigations, training, prevention and community education.

Culver Schools Schedule Cyber Safety Presentations

Students at the Culver Community Schools Corporation are learning how to keep themselves safe online. Elementary School Principal Erin Proskey told the school board Monday that a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is giving presentations to students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Prosecutor, Students Partner to Share Important Message

Students from Starke County’s three high schools have an important message for their peers about the long-term consequences of their online activity. Prosecutor Nick Bourff is trying to raise awareness of sexting, cyber-bullying and other types of high-tech harassment that may not only cause pain and embarrassment but may also carry criminal consequences.He recently enlisted the help of students from Knox, North Judson-San Pierre and Oregon-Davis to get the word out.
