The suspect in a LaPorte County burglary and battery case has been taken into custody, thanks to the help of a Porter County Sheriff’s K-9. David Lane, 46, was found hiding in a wooded area in the 4500 block of East Scholl Road and taken into custody around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office. The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a man considered to be armed and dangerous. They say 46-year-old David Lane forced his way into his estranged wife’s residence in the 4800 East block of County Road 200 North Monday night, threatened her with a firearm, battered her and threatened to harm himself and to commit “suicide by cop.” Continue reading
