Demolition Order Tabled, Changes Made to WECS Ordinance
Pulaski County Building Inspector Dave Dare and David Weber presented a demolition order for an unsafe property on U.S. 421 in Francesville but it was tabled as property owner, Lawrence Sears, could not be located and wasn’t properly notified of the order.
Dare said he attempted certified mail and a response was not delivered. A public advocate for Sears said that he has not been able to respond due to a medical issue and the commissioners voted to table the order for 90 days until Sears has a chance to properly respond.
Pulaski County Commissioners Approve Zoning Change
The Pulaski County Commissioners Monday unanimously approved a zoning change to turn recreational and residential land back into farmland.
The advisory plan commission recently approved the request to rezone the former driving range at Moss Creek Golf Course from RR-1 to A-1, which means it can be tilled under and planted. The commissioners also approved the rezoning of six nearby lots in the Moss Creek Acres Subdivision from residential to agricultural use.
Pulaski Zoning Ordinance May Soon Be Revised
The Pulaski County Advisory Plan Commission has an ongoing discussion in the works regarding the county’s zoning ordinance and some obvious changes that need made in conjunction with previously established zoning ordinances in Winamac and Francesville. David Weber, secretary for the plan commission and board of zoning appeals, told WKVI that the commission has been discussing for the last several months how to revise or amend the county’s zoning ordinance, as it’s becoming apparent that changes need made to ensure the ordinances for the county, Winamac and Francesville work together with no issues.
