All candidates interested in running must be filed at their County Clerkâs Office by noon, local time, on Friday, February 8th. No exceptions will be made.

One perk to the sun setting sooner around this time of year is having more time to appreciate all the decorations and lights that people put up in their yards and on their houses. A few communities will be hosting decoration contests during the month of December to decipher whose homes best capture the holiday spirit.
In Starke County, the city of Knox is hosting a holiday decorating contest. The judging will take place on Wednesday, December 13th from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Participants should be sure to have their lights turned on during this time. The Indiana Department of Transportation is offering a scholarship program to civil engineering students that also includes summer and post-graduation employment opportunities.
The INDOT Scholarship program utilizes federal funds to offer up to $3,125 per semester or $2,083 per trimester for up to five years of post-secondary civil engineering education. The scholarship funds can be applied to educational expenses, fees and books. In return, recipients would work for INDOT in full-time, paid positions during summer breaks and upon graduation. Don’t fret, the deadline has been extended to allow more children the chance to compete in this year’s singing contest at the Starke County 4-H Fair. Though the deadline has been extended, you should still get your entries in as soon as possible in order to ensure your spot in the competition on Monday, July 13 at 8 pm in the show arena. The enrollment deadline for the Healthcare Marketplace is coming up, and IU Health says they continue to provide resources for individuals.
The deadline for enrollment is February 15th. There are dozens of plans available to Hoosiers on the marketplace.
