The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld a conviction from Starke Circuit Court. Last June a jury found Earl Beem of Hamlet guilty of possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance, both of which are Level 6 felonies, and of possession of paraphernalia. Continue reading
Drug Investigation Leads to Three Arrests
A tip from another police department led to the Friday arrests of three people allegedly involved in manufacturing methamphetamine. Knox Police Chief Harold Smith says officers from his department and the Starke County Sheriff’s Office found a meth lab inside a residence in the 200 block of West Lake Street in Knox. New K9 Apprehends Fleeing Fugitive
A Knox man who tried to flee from a Starke County Sheriff’s Deputy late Monday night didn’t get very far, thanks to the newest member of the department. Det. Sgt. Adam Gray and K9 Zardoz responded to the area of U.S. 30 north of U.S. 35 around 11:30 p.m. and quickly tracked down 33-year-old Earl W. Beem of Knox. Continue reading
