Eastern Pulaski School Board Votes to Change Banks
According to Eastern Pulaski Community Schools’ Superintendent Dan Foster, the corporation has been having some concerns with their primary financial provider for several months now. Issues included inconsistency, unreliability and an abundance of unnecessary fees.
In order to solve the problem, a proposal was composed and sent out to several potential providers. The current institution did not even reply to the proposal. This led Superintendent Foster to address the school board Monday evening and suggest switching their primary financial institution to one of the two places that did respond. Continue reading
Memorial Bench Approved for former Eastern Pulaski Superintendent
The Eastern Pulaski School Corporation campus will soon have a new bench commemorating the memory of former Superintendent Harry Cords. At the school board meeting Monday evening, one item on the agenda was to approve a $750 donation from the Cords family. Thanks to unanimous approval from the board, the donation was accepted and the board discussed where exactly to place the memorial bench. Continue reading

Eastern Pulaski Schools Anticipate Savings Through Bond Refinancing
During the Eastern Pulaski School Board meeting Monday evening, the board decided without any opposition to refinance the school’s pension bonds. Back in 2006, the state allowed schools to take out bonds to pay off their pension obligations, that money still needs to be repaid. With this resolution, the school will be taking advantage of lower interest rates to reduce the cost and still pay the bonds off in the same amount of time. Continue reading
Eastern Pulaski School Board Amends School Calendar
Over the past few years, due to make up days for winter weather conditions, the end of the year over at the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation has been hectic. This year graduation happened to fall on the same day as the last school day. This puts a lot of excess unneeded pressure on older students. Eastern Pulaski School Board to Discuss Renovation Project Bids
The Eastern Pulaski School Board will be discussing bids for the upcoming building renovation projects in a work session beginning at 5 p.m. ET tonight. The projects include the construction of secure entrances at the schools, upgrades of classrooms and a new gymnasium floor. The project is estimated at $14 million.

Plans Nearly Finished for Eastern Pulaski Renovations
Plans for the $14 million renovation project at Eastern Pulaski Schools are nearly finished. Superintendent Dan Foster says the architect is putting the final touches on things. Plans include securing the main entrances to the schools, upgrading the restrooms and replacing the floors in both gyms. Once the design is finalized, the project will be let for bid. The project includes upgrades to the elementary, middle and high schools. Main entrances will be secured and restrooms will be updated. Eastern Pulaski School Board Honors Retiring Member
An Eastern Pulaski School Board member was honored Monday evening for 22 years of service. John Kwiatkowski is retiring from the board at the end of this year. He served two stints on the board as the representative from Franklin Township. The first was from 1968 until 1978. During that time the elementary school was built. Continue reading

Eastern Pulaski Enrollment Dips
Enrollment at the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation is down slightly over this time last year. The official student count turned in to the state last month is 1,231.5. Superintendent Dan Foster says that’s a decline of 1.5 students. Continue reading

Eastern Pulaski School Board to Meet Today
The members of the Eastern Pulaski School Board will approve action items concerning contracts and the building project in a meeting this afternoon.
After the last special meeting, the board members met in an extended work session to fine tune the building project that includes all buildings to upgrade them to future education standards. Security upgrades will be done as well as classroom improvements and heating and cooling.
