LaPorte County Police have arrested a Gary man, following a suspected burglary at a gas station. Shortly before midnight Tuesday night, officers were called to the Family Express station at the intersection of State Road 2 and County Road 500 West. Police say someone had gotten in and taken numerous cigarette cartons.
Markovitz to Celebrate 20 Years of South Shore Line Posters with Gallery Talk in Hammond
Art and train enthusiasts will have a chance to learn more about the popular South Shore Line posters this weekend. Knox resident Mitch Markovitz is the artist behind the “Just Around the Corner” poster series. Family Express Receives Hoosier Homegrown Fuels Grant
Family Express plans to make ethanol-blended fuel easier to get, thanks to a grant from the Indiana Office of Energy Development. The gas station chain has been awarded over $789,000 to install 45 blender pumps in northern Indiana, including locations in Starke, LaPorte, and St. Joseph counties. Continue reading
Knox Kiwanis Baskets to be Delivered Today
Since the 1970’s, the Knox Kiwanis Club has helped those in need with Christmas food baskets and yesterday, members of the Knox National Honor Society and the Student Council, plus North Judson and Knox Kiwanis members, helped assemble those baskets at Community Services of Starke County.
