Despite informing residents about the dangers of introducing non-flushable items into the sewer system, problems have persisted at the James Street lift station in North Judson.
In order to address the issue, Interim Town Superintendent Randy Schwartz is proposing converting the station’s pumps to Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).

Knox Wastewater Superintendent Kelly Clemons informed Board of Works members last Wednesday that an integral lift station that services much of the Industrial Park needs some upgrades.
The superintendent explained, “Our Pacific lift station, we want to rebuild the valve box in that. While we’re doing this we want to add a bypass so if the pumps go down, the power goes down or something happens we can get that water moved down the line.” Continue reading
The North Judson Town Council approved the payment of over $31,000 in lift station bills this week. The bulk of that is to replace the control panel and pumps at the 3rd Street lift station, after it was damaged by a hit-and-run driver last month.
