If you have business to conduct with a government body tomorrow, you may want to phone first. Starke, Pulaski and Marshall County government offices are all closed in observance of Good Friday. Indiana is one of 13 states that give employees the day off. BMV offices that are normally open on Fridays will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Saturday. Mail will be delivered on Friday, and federal government offices will be open.
Government Buildings Closed on Good Friday
The United States Postal Service will deliver mail this Good Friday, but several governmental offices will be closed in observance of the legal holiday.
The Starke and Pulaski County Courthouses and government buildings, Knox City Hall and the Winamac Town Hall will be closed. The Starke County Public Library in Knox and the Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac will only be open from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.
All Bureau of Motor Vehicle license branches will be closed on Good Friday and resume normal business hours on Saturday, March 30.
The Knox, Demotte and Monticello branches which are normally open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, will reopen on Monday, April 1.
For all other inquires of business status, call that place of business before you go to that location.

This is a special day in the lives of all Christians around the world. Today is Good Friday on which all Christians commemorate the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross. According to Theologians, the death brings salvation to all who believe.
Good Friday is the culmination of Holy Week that began on Palm Sunday and takes place two days before Easter.
Community Good Friday Service Planned
A Community Good Friday Worship Service is scheduled this evening by the Starke County Ministerial Alliance. The program begins at 7 p.m. at the Knox First Christian Church, 301 South Pearl Street.
Several area pastors are participating in the service. Ed Hasnerl, pastor at the Eagle Creek Community Church will bring a short message. Special music will be provided by Sally Povalitis, Marilyn McCarty, Nancy Lerch, Diane Riddle, Doris Michael and Jeanell Quillen.
